1st Upper Dearne Valley Navigators

Activity for All

None of what we have achieved since starting would have been achievable without the support of parents and young people, and our supporting adults, Ewan, Fiona, Maria, Carol, Lynne, James, Leanne, Ruaridh, Callum, Mhairi, Giles and Darren.

However, we really need to offer special thanks to the following:

  • Neil at La Dolce Vita for letting us meet in his function room whilst we got started.
  • Callum Scott for allowing us to use his garden for campfires
  • Ron and Shaun at Hanging Heaton Scouts for the donation of surplus tents and the use of their kayak equipment
  • Neil Gemmell for the use of his land for shooting and archery
  • Denby Dale Lions for the supply of tents
  • Denby Dale Parish Council for funds towards a Canoe
  • Wakefield and District Community Health Support for funding towards two canoes
  • Hudderfield Common Good Trust for funds for Circus equipment
  • Locala for funding our climbing equipment
  • Ian Wilkins, Kent, for the donation of six tents
  • Melbourne Scouts, Derbyshire for the donation of a kitchen tent
  • 7th St Lukes maidstone for the use of their hall overnight on our Ardennes trip.
  • Nick and Maxine for donating a frame tent
  • Sport England for funding the purchase of our kayak fleet
  • One Community for helping fund the purchase of archery equipment
  • Vanessa Marsden at Skelmanthorpe Youth and Community Centre for hosting us.
  • 8th Gillingham Scouts and its GSL Stephen Rainsbury for a donation of three large frying pans.
  • 7th St Lukes Maidstone - for the donation received after we gave them a day's kayaking on the Calder and Hebble.

We would also like to thank the cash donors who put money in our account just when we needed it.
